A magnetic needle, sufficiently sensitive to give excellent results.
Pivoted between a top and bottom glass plate, housed in an aluminium casing. The glass plates are marked with cross lines, used for plotting magnetic fields. Many teachers prefer this to iron filings. Clear diameter 21mm.
